The Lexus IS are compact executive cars that have been sold since 1999. The name IS stands for Intelligent Sport. The first generation IS was launched in competition to the European luxury sport Sedan brands. It received favorable reviews and was awarded the Car of the Year title in Japan. The IS models now in use are the second generation models and were first premiered in 2006. These are sleeker and more elegant than their predecessors and deliver better performance.
The IS 250 C is the latest model of the Lexus IS and was launched in Europe in the summer of 2009. It has an award winning compact Sedan design along with superior quality features which give an amazing driving experience. It is a luxury convertible car which combines elegance with performance.
The car has only two doors, and the sharper angles and lines give it a sportier look than the previous models. The hard top roof has the record for the fastest opening time of just twenty seconds. It also has a remarkable folding mechanism which allows the car to have generous rear space. Once folded, it gives the car a clean and sleek look with no obvious breaks. Apart from the bonnet, head lamps and mirrors, all other features of the car have been redesigned. The front overhang of the car has been slightly increased so as to increase the aero dynamic quality. One of the most attractive features is the subtle boat tail rear spoiler which is exclusive to this model. The IS is a beautiful car overall and appeals to people of all generations.
The interior of the car is similarly breathtaking. The car has high quality leather seats and aluminium pedals. The doors have been made around 300 millimetres longer in order to provide easier rear seat access. There is also a one touch walk-in button which offers high-speed, automatic front seat fold-and-slide activation for greater convenience. The car has a climate control system to make top down driving more comfortable. The car comes with a Mark Levinson Premium Surround System with a built-in equalizer to provide consistent audio quality whether the hard top is up or down; this system automatically adjusts the sound when the roof is opened or closed.
The car has a 2.5 litre V6 engine and a 6 speed automation system which give it optimal performance and fuel economy. The car has state-of-the-art safety features which provide a secure riding experience even at high speeds.
